تُحيي القنصلية العامة للجزائر بنيويورك، يوم 11 ديسمبر، الذكرى السنوية لمظاهرات 11 ديسمبر 1960، إحدى المحطات التاريخية البارزة في مسار ثورة التحرير المجيدة، والتي جسّد فيها الشعب الجزائري أروع صور التلاحم والتضحية دفاعًا عن حقه المشروع في الحرية والاستقلال.
وتُنظَّم هذه المناسبة تخليدًا للأرواح الطاهرة لشهداء الجزائر الأبرار، واستحضارًا لما قدمه الشعب الجزائري من تضحيات جسام في سبيل استرجاع سيادته الوطنية، كما تُعد فرصة لتعريف الأجيال الصاعدة من أبناء الجالية الوطنية بالخارج بقيم النضال، والوطنية، والانتماء.
وسيتم خلال هذه المراسم تنظيم وقفة ترحم على أرواح الشهداء، إلى جانب كلمة رسمية تبرز دلالات وأبعاد مظاهرات 11 ديسمبر 1960 وآثارها السياسية والإعلامية على مسار الكفاح الوطني.

The Consulate General of Algeria in New York Commemorates the Anniversary of the December 11, 1960 Demonstrations
The Consulate General of Algeria in New York will commemorate, on December 11, the anniversary of the historic December 11, 1960 demonstrations, a pivotal milestone in the course of the glorious Algerian War of Liberation, during which the Algerian people expressed their unity and determination in claiming their legitimate right to freedom and independence.
This commemoration is held in tribute to the pure souls of Algeria’s martyrs and in recognition of the immense sacrifices made by the Algerian people in their struggle for national sovereignty. It also represents an opportunity to pass on the values of patriotism, sacrifice, and national identity to younger generations of the Algerian community abroad.
The ceremony will include a moment of remembrance in honor of the martyrs, official addresse including a historical presentation highlighting the significance and impact of the December 11, 1960 demonstrations on the national liberation movement.
