ANNOUNCEMENT TO THE ALGERIAN COMMUNITY

The purpose of this announcement is to draw the attention of the members of the Algerian community living in the United States, within the areas of consular jurisdiction of the Consulate General of Algeria in New York City, to the following points:

  • The Consulate General of Algeria in New York has initially scheduled biometric mobile services, in the following states: Illinois, Colorado, and Florida.
  • However, due to considerations relevant to the working procedures mainly the number of applicants that does not meet, so far, the minimum required to conduct a biometric mobile station in the states mentioned above, we are unable to set up a date.
  • Except the mobile services that are already scheduled and announced to the community (Illinois, Colorado and Florida), no more mobile stations are on the Consulate agenda.
  • In that respect, applicants for a biometric passport, living in the above-mentioned states, who will be mailing their applications, should make sure that they meet the requirements listed on the Consulate website.
  • Incomplete applications, unacceptable pictures, and registration forms that are not carefully filled out, will not be processed and will be mailed back to the applicant.
CGNY urges its community members in the remaining states who are planning to visit CG office in New York to mail their biometric passport applications and to confirm, within reasonable time, the date they intend to complete fingerprinting. This procedure will enable the consulate staff to process applications ahead of time and will relieve administrative workload during fingerprinting. Moreover, it helps in providing for a consistent high standard of quality of service to the community members. CGNY reminds applicants over the age of 12 that they must appear in person, at the Consulate General of Algeria in New York, to complete digital fingerprint records and digital photography.
